Introduction of the Project General Shop Management System
This project deals with the management of the Computerized General Store Solution. General Store Management Solution is a place where the entire goods. The aim is to automate its existing manual system by the help of computerized equipments and full-fledged computer software, fulfilling their requirements, so that their valuable data/information can be stored for a longer period with easy accessing and manipulation of the same. Basically the project describes the goods information of their efficiency cost.
For easy and convenient processing we need to develop software, which works as per our requirements. While preparing this software we got to remember few things i.e. this software must have a friendly environment, in other words it should not be much complicated to handle, it should have options for future modifications in the database i.e. in the goods list, new items and workers list. For smooth functioning, we had to prepare a database by which we could enter the required data in their respective locations. In this database all the records of daily entry made are stored , so that we can use them in future whenever allotted to their caretaker. Other then that no one could use this and on entering an illegal password or login name an error message get displayed.
Objective of the Project General Shop Management System
The main objectives behind the development of this project are as follows:
- To assist the staff in capturing the effort spent on their respective working areas.
- To utilize human resource of the hostel in an efficient manner by increasing their efficiency through automation.
- The system generates a number of types of reports that can be then used for various purposes.
Thus, there are a number of objectives behind developing the “GENERAL STORE MANAEMENT” and it reduces a lot of burden of the staff by simplifying the tasks etc.
Operating Environment – The proposed software is targeted to run on Windows 9x, Windows NT and Windows 2000 editions.
Software Requirements
- Database: SQL SERVER 2000
- Language: VISUAL BASIC 6.0
System Feature Requirements – Other than descriptions provided above, the following features were required by the Dealar:
- The system should be secured enough to rely upon.
- System should provide facility of exporting its data in text format.
- System should be able to integrate with its Phase II developments.
Security issues:
Security is one of the major issues to software. There are many threats to the software from outsider. Unauthorized access to software may harm the data. To prevent unauthorized access to the software the password authentication is used to login the system. No person can login to the system who does not know the correct login and password. The system also prevents the user to delete and update the record without giving the password to delete/update.
